NAGPUR: The second International Film festival concluded on a high note as many celebrities paid a visit to the city for the occasion. Music composers Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire of '3 Idiots' fame concluded the event with their foot tapping compositions.
Citizens of Nagpur gathered at Smruti Cinema as they fired intelligent questions at Swanand and Shantanu.

Asked where classical music stands in today's movie scenario, Shantanu replied with a simple 'nowhere'. "There are a very few directors left who actually understand music," he said. "The composers make five songs which can be used in any movie irrespective of the story. That is what is happening today. It is necessary to understand that music made according to public taste is no music at all. Sadly, that is what is happening," he said.
The cast of critically acclaimed south Indian film 'Illangyan' too was present for their film showcase. Popular actor Khusboo asked Swanand what his feelings were behind writing and composing the popular song, 'Behti Hawa Saa Tha Woh' from '3 Idiots.'
"I had to make a song to describe the character of Rancho," said Kirkire. "But as I started writing the song, I realised that this song can be used to describe so many people. Everybody knows one person who has these wild out-of-the-box ideas and it was a song that described those persons."
"Film alone is not our world," said Swanand Kirkire. "Music comes naturally to us. As is the case with classical music, even poetry is a dying field. There are a very few people who actually want to understand the meaning behind the words. I just hope this is just a crazy phase that the Indian audience is going through."
The closing film, 'Illangyan' was received well by the audience as the show was graced by a decent crowd. This movie is about how a man, who prefers peace, can be provoked to take a rebellious and violent path.
